Parochial Inspector (GMG/AM 1) - (Vacant), salary range $853,412 - $1,014,438 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.

Qualifications: 

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience
 
Diploma in Public Administration/Management Studies or any equivalent discipline.
At least one (1) year experience in a similar capacity. 

Responsibilities: 

Parochial Inspector (GMG/AM 1)Job Purpose     
 
Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the incumbent is directly responsible for inspecting the operation of Contractors, Lessees, and Concessionaires to determine if the services related to civic amenities are delivered at an acceptable standard to the parish constituents. 
Key Responsibilities
 The incumbent should be familiar with the following:
St. Catherine proper;
location of all facilities, location and condition of all buildings, equipment, land etc., which are owned by the Corporation;
terms and conditions of every lease and contract between the Corporation and the Lessees/Contractors, and the Corporation, the Parish Cemeteries, Parochial Market Act and Regulations. 

Markets

Visit all markets in the parish and inspecting the facilities used by vendors to ensure that they are kept in a hygienic condition (at all times);  
Ensure that vendors are charged according to Government’s regulations;
Make monthly report on Special Control Account Forms on all markets for submission to the Ministry of Local Government;
Make monthly report on IDE/GOJ Market on Special Form (for the Old Harbour Market);
Ensure that garbage is removed from the markets daily;
Ensure that Markets’ Lessees adhere to signed contracts; 
Check on Butchers to ensure that their licences are up–to–date;

Cemeteries

Inspect all cemeteries in the parish to see that they are kept in usable condition and examine Cemetery Keepers’ Records to ensure that they are up–to–date.

Inspect the Old Harbour Bay Fishing Beach;
Maintain a log of all inspections (including date, time of day and the standard of performance of the Lessees/Contractors and other persons involved); Making periodic reports to the Superintendent on the findings of inspections;
Recommending to the Superintendent, the termination of lease/contracts in case where the Lessees/Contractors fail to provide the services at the acceptable standards;
Investigating public complaints and taking appropriate remedial action;
Attending meetings of the Corporation when required;
Any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer Officer or his nominee.

Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, policies and procedures governing the Corporation’s operations.
Investigative procedures and techniques.
Working knowledge of relevant computer techniques.
