JOB VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Pound Keeper (LMO/TS4).
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the City Inspector, the Pound Keeper is generally responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations of the Pound in keeping with the requirements of the Pound Act and for the supervision and control of employee assigned thereto.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Four (4) CXC subjects including Mathematics and English Language
• Knowledge of basic Accounting principles
• A complete and thorough understanding of the provisions of the Pound Act is necessary for the proper execution of the duties of the post as non-compliance or dereliction of any duty is deemed an offence and is punishable under the Act.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
• Previous working experience with different types of animals.
Special Requirement: The holder of the post is expected to reside in the immediate neighborhood of the Pound in order that s/he may receive the animals whenever required so to do.
